Okay, this is the basic plot of the world that this RP forum shall take place. For the sake of this forum, we're taking creative licence with the timeline of the games, and making Twilight Princess a direct sequel to Majora's Mask.
And, of course, one last thing:
Disclaimer: If you're in a Zelda RP forum, you shouldn't really be worried about spoilers, because you've probably played most of the games, if not all of them... But this is a nessecity, either way...
SPOILERS!!! IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS, DO NOT READ ANY FARTHER!!
Link stared into the eyes of his hated enemy, Ganon. Now, it was time to end this, once and for all. Time to imprison this evil fiend, and be rid of him forever! The Hero of Time drew his Blade of Evil's Bane back and struck once! Twice! Thrice! And a final strike, he drove it in between the beast's eyes.
"Ancient Creators of Hyrule! Now, open the sealed door and send the Evil Incarnation of Darkness into the void of the Evil Realm!!" Zelda intoned. Each of the six sages channeled their immense power and unlocked the gate to Ganon's new prison, the Evil Realm. A great white light is torn into space, and then Ganondorf, reverted back from his beast form of Ganon, is finally imprisoned. Hyrule is safe...
"YOU... CURSE YOU ZELDA! CURSE YOU SAGES!! CURSE YOU... LINK!" Ganondorf roared into the empty abyss. "Someday... when this seal is broken.... That is when I will exterminate your descendants!!" the King of Evil decreed. "As long as the Triforce of Power is in my hand...."
Elsewhere, in the Sacred Realm, Zelda and Link stood face to face. It seemed as if there was no ground supporting them as they gazed tiredly at each other. Zelda broke the silence, and said, "Thank you, Link... Thanks to you, Ganondorf has been sealed inside the Evil Realm! Thus, peace will once again reign in this world, for a time." She paused, and looked down in shame. "All the tragedy that has befallen Hyrule was my doing... I was so young... I could not comprehend the consequences of trying to control the Sacred Realm. I dragged you into it too. Now it is time for me to make up for my mistakes..." She took a deep breath, and continued, "You must lay the Master Sword to rest and close the Door of Time... However, by doing this, the road between times will be closed..." Zelda looked up at Link, and then held out her hand. "Link, give the Ocarina to me. As a Sage, I can return you to your original time with it."
Link glanced down at the sky blue flute in his hands, then looked up at Zelda, and placed it into her outstretched hands. She put her other hand on top of his, looking at him sadly. "When peace returns to Hyrule... It will be time for us to say good-bye..." She took the Ocarina, and held it to her heart. "Now, go home, Link. Regain your lost time!" She inhaled, and murmured, "Home... where you are supposed to be... the way you are supposed to be..."
She raised the Royal Treasure to her lips, paused for a couple of seconds, and then began playing the lullaby that was played to her as a child: Zelda's Lullaby...
Link was enveloped in blue light as the notes flowed through the air like liquid peace. He looked up into the brilliantly aquamarine sky peppered with clouds that looked like wispy cotton. His eyes closed, and the last words he heard were, "Thank you... Link... Good-bye..."
Link regained consciousness abruptly. He was standing beside the Pedestal of Time; the Blade of Evil's Bane was erect in it's stone sheath, and light shone in through the windows of the ancient cathedral. He was a child once more.
Navi glanced at her partner, her student, her friend. Realizing that her job was done, she knew that the Hulaing child had no more use for her. With a mix of sadness and pride, she flew to the window high in the church wall; sadness that she'd never see him again, but pride in th.at he no longer was dependent upon her for guidance... her task was complete.
Link watched his companion fly away with a similar mixture of feelings. But this was the end of his adventure... or so he thought...
Link stood on the grassy moor outside Clock Town, the central hub of Termina. He had just defeated Majora, who had been threatening Termina by attempting to bring the moon down upon Clock Town on the night of their Carnival of Time. The four giants gazed at the dissipating moon as if making sure it was no longer a threat to their people.
Link glanced over at Skull Kid, the one who had started this whole mess, albeit in a fit of mere curiosity. The small figure was staring up at the four red giants, his eyes riveted on his old friends. His voice squeaked, "You guys... You hadn't forgotten about me?"
The Swamp Giant let out a grunt. The Skull Kid seemed to understand it, for he bowed his head, and began trembling with repressed sobs. "You still thought of me as a friend?"
Tatl and Tael hovered over to the crying Skull Kid, attempting to comfort him.
The giant that was the leader, or that seemed like the leader, as he had done the "talking" (if you could call it that), tilted his head back and howled the Oath to Order. The other three began their trek, one, one hundred paces north, another, one hundred paces west, and the third, one hundred paces to the east. The Swamp Giant glanced down at the diminutive Skull Kid, and then began his own trek, one hundred paces south, to his chosen place of rest.
After several long minutes, the Skull Kid had gathered himself. He turned to Link. "Did you... Did you save me?" the question squeaked from his small mouth. Link nodded, and the Skull Kid turned to Tael. "I thought they didn't want to be friends with me... But... They hadn't forgotten about me... Friends are a nice thing to have... Heh, heh," his laughter sounded creaky, his throat still strained from his bout of tears. He turned back to Link, "Could you be my friend, too?"
He cocked he head, and shuffled towards the Hylian child. Skull Kid leaned forward and sniffed Link, and then laughed. "Eh-hee-hee... You have the same smell as the fairy kid who taught me that song in the woods..." He shook his head, and said, "I know, I know! Let's do something!"
A ways away, the Happy Mask Salesman held Majora's Mask, the evil relic that had housed Majora, an equally evil, spiteful spirit, with his ever-present, mildly manic smile. "Oh... So the evil has left the mask after all..." He turned to the group of new-found friends. "Well, now... I finally have it back." Faster than the eye could see, he hooked the mask onto the back of his pack, and bowed. "Since I am in the midst of my travels... I must bid you farewell," the Salesman chuckled.
As the grinning man walked by, Skull Kid hung his head in shame, as he had stolen the mask from the Salesman, and caused this whole mess in the first place.
The Happy Mask Salesman turned and looked at Link. "Shouldn't you be returning home as well?" the man inquired. He paused, and for once, his smile seemed less forced, and warm. "Whenever there is a meeting, a parting is sure to follow. However, that parting need not last forever... Whether a parting be forever or merely for a short time... That is up to you." Once again, he changed positions faster than should be possible, moving into a bow. "With that, please excuse me..." He turned, and began walking away once more.
The Salesman paused again, and turned, and added one last thing, "But, my, you sure have managed to make quite a number of people happy. The mask you have are filled with happiness. This is truly a good happiness." And with that, he turned for the last time, and walked away.
Link had finally returned to Hyrule. It was dusk, and through the woods, he could see a village. He was exhausted, but he ground through the fatigue. He could see water; a stream, probably. To his right, he saw what looked like... a house, carved into a home. Just like old times, just like the Kokiri did... but this wasn't the Kokiri Forest... This wasn't his home. To his left, he saw what looked like a general store. Commerce was everywhere, after all. Straight ahead, he could see a water wheel, being powered by the stream, and a couple of pumpkin patches, one on either side of the flow.
"Stop that goat! Stop that goat!" a man's voice called out. Link looked away from the water wheel to see a goat charging towards him. He leaped off of his mare, and slid in front off her. His stance was wide, and his hand outstretched. He caught the goat, slid back a couple of feet from the animal's momentum, and then managed to turn it's head, and flip it to the side.
The man caught up to the animal, panting, and said, "Thank you, man... who knows where this fella would've gotten if you hadn't stopped him." The man paused, and, looking at Link, said, "You're knew around here, aren't you? My name's Fado; what's yours?"
"Link," said the taciturn hero.
"Well, Link, you look bushed. How 'bout you crash at my house, tonight, and I'll bring you to meet the mayor in the mornin'?"
"Thanks, Fado."
"Well, Link, welcome to my village of Ordon!" boomed the large mayor. "My name's Bo."
"Well met, Bo."
"So, Link, what brings you to Ordon?"
"I'm... I've been traveling, and I'm tired... very tired..." Link trailed off. He took a breath, "If it's okay with you, sir, I'd like to settle down here."
The big man laughed, "Of course, Link, we're always willing to welcome new people to our village." The mayor paused, and scratched his head, "Unfortunately, we don't have any vacant houses..."
"That's okay, I can build my own," Link replied, folding his arms.
Smiling, Bo said, "I like a man like you, Link. In fact, I'll help you build your house on one condition; our rancher, Fado, you've met him already. Well, he needs a ranch hand, and you look very capable for the job. How 'bout you help him out?"
Nodding, Link said, "Of course, not a problem."
"Excellent! Now, where would you like your new home?"
"Well... I've always had an affinity for trees," Link trailed off.
Ganondorf, after defeating the Hero of Time, walked up to his prone body. "Ah, boy, your end draws near," his deep menacing laugh echoed around the chamber... He bent down, and picked the Hero up by the neck, and forced him to look his hated enemy in the eye. "Or maybe not... I shall see you suffer... You will be stripped of all you love... and sent into the Badlands of Emptiness." A chuckle escaped the evil tormentor's lips as Link's eyes widened... and then closed, as he lost consciousness.
The Evil King Ganondorf has now siezed power. Hyrule is underneath his iron fist, which is slowly sqeezing the life out of this once peaceful kingdom. His taxes, high, his enforcers, cruel, his reign, one of terror.
But, there is hope yet... unknown to the majority of the population, a small band of brave men and women dare to defy the evil usurper. They are at war with the evil tyrant, determined to slay every last one of Ganondorf's minions, to remove the cancerous ruler from the throne, and reinstate the rightful heir to the throne: Princess Zelda. They are also on a mission to find the Hero of Time, so as to gain the edge they lost in that fateful battle which resulted in Link's exile.
They are known as the Templars of Courage.
Will you join them?
